01Delete in the App

1. Open Yane and go to the "Members" screen (the list of members in your home).
2. Tap "Delete account" at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap "Delete" to confirm.

Deletion cannot be undone.

02What Is Deleted

Whichever homes you belong to, the following is deleted:

• Your Yane account (your Firebase Authentication user). If you linked an Apple or Google account, that link is deleted as well. If you linked an Apple account, we also revoke the App's Sign in with Apple authorization on Apple's side.
• Your membership in every home you belong to
• Settings stored on your device, and chore reminders

03What Stays and What Is Removed in Each Home

For each home you belong to, what happens depends on whether other housemates have joined it.

• A home that other housemates have joined: You leave the home, your name within it is removed, and you are shown as "Former member". Expense, settlement and chore records stay in the home so that your housemates' balances do not change. In those records your name is also shown as "Former member", and no information linked to you remains.
• A home that only you have joined: The home is deleted along with all of its records. Housemates added by name only, who have not installed the App, are not counted as having joined. The deletion is carried out on our server and is usually completed within about an hour. The home's invite codes stop working as soon as you delete your account, so housemates added by name only can no longer join later.

04If You Have Deleted the App or Cannot Open It

If you have already deleted the App or cannot open it, please use the contact form below: choose "Data deletion request" as the topic and "Yane" as the app, and write "Account deletion request". We will handle your request within 30 days of receiving it.

To identify your account, please include the email address of the Apple or Google account you linked (if you chose "Hide My Email" with Apple, the relay address).

If you have not linked an account, please delete it using "Delete account" in the App. Once the App has been deleted, an account that is not linked cannot be traced back to you, even by us (there is nothing to go on to find information linked to you, including your name in the home).
