Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 27, 2026This Privacy Policy describes how Life Hack Tools ("we") handles user information in Yane: Roommate Bills & Chores ("the App"). The App lets people who live together — roommates, couples and shared houses — share their records of money and chores. No account is required. Only members of the same home can view and edit that home's data, and we never sell or provide user information to third parties. The App shows no ads.
01Account and Identifier
The App does not require you to create an account. When the App starts, it creates an identifier for each device using anonymous sign-in with Firebase Authentication, a service provided by Google. This identifier is used to determine which home you are a member of.
We never ask you to enter an email address, phone number or name.
02Information We Store
To share it within your home, the App stores the following information that you enter:
- Home and housemates: the home's name and currency, and each housemate's display name and color. A display name is whatever you choose to call someone; it does not have to be a real name.
- Money records: expenses paid on behalf of others (title, amount, date, who paid, and how it is split), their change history, and settlement records.
- Chore rotations: the name, interval and order of each chore, and records of completion.
- Shared supplies: the stock of shared household supplies and the shopping list.
- Invitations and joining: invite codes and requests to join a home (including requests to move a housemate's slot to a new device when changing phones).
03Where Data Is Stored
The information above is stored in Cloud Firestore, a service provided by Google. It is stored in the Tokyo region (asia-northeast1), in a project used only for the App.
04Who Can See Your Information
Within the App, a home's data can be viewed and edited only by members of that home. This restriction is enforced by Cloud Firestore security rules.
We never sell or provide user information to third parties. The App shows no ads.
05What We Do Not Use
The App does not use:
- Analytics tools
- Advertising SDKs
- Crash reporting services (at this time)
The App also does not use your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
06Notifications
Chore reminders are local notifications scheduled only on your device. We do not send push notifications from a server.
07Information Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following on your device:
- Your display language setting
- Your sign-in state (anonymous sign-in)
08Deleting Your Data
You can leave the home from the "Members" screen in the App.
However, records of money owed between you and other members may remain in the home, to prevent disputes.
If you would like all of your data deleted, please contact us using the form below. We will review your request and handle it.
09In-App Purchases
There are currently no purchases in the App.
We plan to introduce a home plan (subscription) in the future. Payments will be processed by Apple or Google, and we will not receive your credit card information. We will update this policy when the plan is introduced.
10Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for anyone under the age of 18.
11Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we do, we will announce the changes on this page.
