Help and support for Taali: Dance Practice Player

FAQ

01A video will not play

Videos that do not allow embedded playback (for example, videos whose owners have disabled embedding) cannot be played in Taali. Search for and add a different upload, such as an official audio track or another video.

An internet connection is also required, so please check that your connection is stable.

02Why do ads appear?

Taali plays videos in the official YouTube embedded player, so YouTube may show ads as part of its own system. Taali itself shows no ads and contains no ad SDK.

03Why is an internet connection required?

Songs are searched and played through the official YouTube player. Taali does not save audio or video on your device, so it cannot play offline.

04How to use a share link

Tap "Share" at the top of the screen to open your device's share sheet. Pick LINE or any other app to send a link to your setlist, and your teammates open the link to practice with the same songs and sections.

You can also share a cue sheet, a plain-text list of the songs and sections, which is handy for practice notes or for your sound engineer.

05How to use the count-in (5-6-7-8)

When you tap Play, the song starts after a 5-6-7-8 count. It gives everyone time to get back to position, and you can change it from the gear icon (Settings) at the top right, where you can also set speed, loop, BPM and the language. It plays even in silent mode. When loop is on, there is no count-in, so it does not get in the way of repeated practice.

06How to use Previous and Next

The dock at the bottom has three buttons: Previous, Play/Pause and Next. They are easy to use with one hand.

Previous returns to the start of the current song if you are 3 seconds or more into it, and goes to the previous song if you are within the first 3 seconds (just like a music player). On the first song it always returns to the start of that song. Next skips to the next song (it is disabled on the last song).

While playing or paused, tapping a song in the list plays that song.

07How to use loop and tempo

Loop can repeat one song or the whole list. Tempo goes from 0.75x to 1.0x and slows the song without changing its pitch, which is ideal for learning choreography.

08How to set the section (From here / To here)

Move the bar and listen, then tap "From here" or "To here" at the spot you want. The zoomed bar lets you fine-tune within 10 seconds either way.

09How can I delete my data?

Taali has no account, and your setlist exists only on your device. You can delete it in the app, and uninstalling the app removes everything stored on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.

10Which languages are supported?

Japanese, English, and Vietnamese.
